Feed the Children

Many families are forced to choose every single month between putting food on the table or paying their rent/mortage. If we can help to eliminate one of those decisions than we can prevent families from becoming homeless.

We live in the richest country in the world, why aren’t we taking care of our children? why are so many going hungry?

Did you know that EVERY 5 seconds  a child dies from hunger? That’s 16,000 children a day! I don’t know about you but we are NOT ok with that!

In 2008 9 million children died before they reached their 5th birthday. Hunger isn’t just a problem in 3rd world countries, every single day right here in the U.S. it is estimated that 16,000 children go hungry.

What are we doing about it?

We’ve created 2 campaigns. Our pilot programs for these campaigns are running in New York and Florida.  We are volunteer driven, so if you’re interested in helping feed people in your community, contact us at info(at)forsakengeneration.com. We’d love to get you involved!
Our Fill the Bus campaign partners with local school districts. The schools in the district collect food for a 3 week period, and then we take a school bus around to pick up the food. The goal of course is to ‘Fill the Bus’.  The kids love it and and they are able to impact their community in an incredibly positive way. You can help by contacting us and starting a Fill the Bus campaign in your community!

The below video is from our first Fill the Bus Campaign. For more videos from the event visit our Facebook page.

Our next program was formed through a partnership with Panera Bread Co. This program currently runs in Jacksonville, FL.

How does it work?

Through our partnership with Panera, we have about 120 volunteers that pick up food from 11 Panera locations in Jacksonville. They do this every single day! We are able to save shelters in Jacksonville about $500,000 annually through this program.

You can help us bring this program to your community, just send us a message and we’ll tell you how!

What else can you do?

Organize a food drive in your community. Contact local grocery stores, fire departments, churches, businesses, etc. If you don’t know where the food pantries are in your area, try finding them here. If you need help organizing your food drive email us at info@forsakengeneration.com and we’ll send you the guide we’ve put together on how to effectively organize a food drive.
