Freedom Walk ‘12

Join us this coming July for our 3rd annual 4th of July Freedom Walk. The event will offer a sober reminder that hundreds of thousands of children right here in the United States are not free. They are slaves being held against their will. Bought and sold as commodities. These children are victims of the horrific world of child sex trafficking. We are looking for Volunteer Event Coordinators to organize Freedom Walks all across the country. WE NEED YOU! We need you and your friends to build the masses and strengthen our voice.

Last year we had over 60 cities throughout the U.S. and 8 countries participate in Freedom Walk! Let’s make it bigger than EVER in 2012 !!!

We are encouraging individuals and organizations nationwide to be a part of this event that will set the stage for a movement in our country. A movement to free these children who are victims of this horrific crime.

How can you be a part of this?


STEP ONE: The first step is simply having a desire to help these children. Anyone can organize a walk, it’s incredibly simple and very easy to organize. We need walk coordinators for each site, so if you’re reading this why not volunteer to organize a walk in your city?

STEP TWO: Location. You need a public place. When you choose a location we recommend picking the spot in your city that has the largest fireworks display. This will by far have the most people! Because this is a peaceful demonstration in a public place you should not need any special permission to walk, however we ask that you check with local authorities to make sure! In order to make the most impact, we need to make sure we follow all the rules!!

STEP THREE: Recruit people to walk! Tell your family, friends, and neighbors. Reach out to people on Facebook and Twitter etc. You don’t have to have a huge number of people to make an impact!

STEP FOUR: Ask everyone who attends to bring a cardboard sign with them. On that sign we ask that you put a statistic that pertains to child sex trafficking. Feel free to use slogans as well, such as “Be their voice”, “Help end child slavery”, “Abolish modern day slavery”, “Be their freedom”, “Children should not be sold”, “Slavery still exists” etc. Feel free to use your own slogan that pertains to the cause.

We want to use this event to make a statement to our country that we care about these children. We are using the day that we celebrate freedom to raise awareness for children who do not have freedom.

More than likely you will draw quite a bit of attention on your walk. We encourage all participants to educate themselves on the facts surrounding child sex trafficking. Engage people who see you walking in conversation to tell them about this important cause. Having a main spot, or base camp for your walk can be helpful. Feel free to bring a table and set out information for people interested in getting involved with the cause. We will upload hand outs that you can print out and bring to your walk. Ask a local business to sponsor the walk by printing the hand outs for you!

The purpose of this event is about raising awareness for a VERY important cause. Take as many pictures and videos as you can! we will upload all pictures and videos onto our website after the event!! Now that you’ve organized your walk, we need you to do 5 VERY important things for us.

1. Send this info to 5 of your friends and personally invite them to sign up and come to the event with you.
2. Use the Freedom Walk logo as your new profile picture.  Click here for the logo.
3. Join your cities Facebook group to connect with other supporters.
4. Contact the event coordinator for your city. We need volunteers! It will take a lot of people to make this happen!
5. Get a Forsaken Generation T Shirt and wear it at the event and continue to wear it! Click Here


But hold on a second, because that’s not it quite yet. Here is what determines a ’successful’ walk. First you need a bunch of people right? Yeah sorry we love stating the obvious! But next you need to get the media to agree to come and cover the event.  Second you and your city must arrange for the attendance of at least one political leader(Congressional representative, State official, Local mayor), local celebrity or community leader. A college coach, or popular athlete is good as well!

How do you connect with them? Letters, emails, phone calls, personal visit, even create a YouTube video inviting them to the event and send it to them.  The more calls, emails etc. that these political leader, celebrities and media outlets get the better chance you have of them showing up at your event! Encourage everyone who’s attending to put a huge effort into this! When contacting them encourage them to visit our website to learn more about why we are doing this.
